Gandalf speaks these words in Chapter 1 shortly after Bilbo faints from terror at the prospect of going on the quest with the dwarves. After Bilbo’s display of fear, the dwarves thinks he can not fit in with them, and he can’t do anything, The speech is important because it exemplifies Gandalf’s habit of insisting that his own authority be taken as definitive proof and also because it foreshadows Bilbo’s transformation into a hero. The trajectory of the novel from this point forward essentially involves Bilbo’s discovery of the “lot more in him” that even he does not yet know.

Gollum said
Gollum speaks these words during his riddle game with Bilbo in Chapter 5. These sentences perfectly capture Gollum’s corrupt, he never said anything directly to Bilbo, but speaks only to his mysterious “precious,” calling Bilbo “It.” Gollum’s infatuation with his precious also acts as a bit of foreshadowing. “Precious” turns out to be the magic ring that Bilbo had discovered and placed in his pocket. Gollum’s devotion to the ring highlights its extreme, seductive powers.

Thorin said these word to Bilbo in chapter 18 before he dies. He’s asking for bilbo’s forgiveness for his words to him before the battle, Thorin acknowledges that, though in his greed he has looked on Bilbo’s simple goodness with contempt, the world would be a better place with more Bilbos and fewer Thorins. This quotation places the book’s contrast between the simple life of modernity and the grim heroism of the ancient epic in a new light. In conclusion, if we lived like hobbit, led a simple life, the world will be peaceful and would be free of evil.

In the beginning of the book, author wrote these words to all the readers, it describes how small and how lazy hobbit was, they don’t do anything special, and all they need is a comfortable home for them, it shows a huge comparison at the end, how Bilbo’s changing affect the story and the importance of a small hobbit.

In chapter 1, the beginning of the book, Bilbo and Gandalf had a conversation, and Gandalf was asking Bilbo to go on a adventure with him, Bilbo went with them, but Gandalf did not promise him he’ll be back, the author’s trying to tell all the readers, we often do not want to change, we want to remain the same, but sometimes in our life, we need to give it a try, sometimes we need to learn to change ourself, to try something special, and at the end, you might be success.

At the end of the novel, when Thorin lost his mind because of the Kim’s jewel-Arkenstone, Bilbo took it, and trying to stop the war, but Thorin was mad about it, so he almost throws Bilbo off the lonely mountain, and then Gandalf stoped him, we can see the relationships that they build through the whole novel, the journey they went through, shows Gandalf likes Bilbo a lot, and he doesn’t wants Bilbo to die.

At the end, Thorin killed Azog and he died, but Bilbo was really sad about it, because him and Thorin had an adventure together, and they been on a long journey together, so they are friends, the last words Bilbo said to Thorin was “See, the eagles came”, that symbolizes hope and accomplishment, the war finally ended, and Thorin made his promise to his dwarfs.

Gandalf said this to Bilbo, Bilbo has completely changed through the journey, and when he came back to his home, he was fruitful, and fulfilled with courage, knowledge, and he has a lot of friends, the journey changed him, and when he look back his life again, is just like a beautiful dream.

This is the song that all the dwarfs sings before they go on the journey, it strongly shows how bad do they want to get back to their home, and take back their own things, and even they know this is going to be hard and will be a long, long journey, but they will not give up until they reached their final goal.
